MS Project -> Key Tasks -> Deliverables
 Milestones   |   Deadlines   | Deliverables

Deliverable is an item or work product that you deliver during execution of the project. Usually deliverables are associated with completion of major phase of your project. Deliverables can be piece of the functionality of your project, document related to your project or report etc.

Create Deliverables:

Option A: Create the deliverables in Project Plan

MS Project Professional 2007 allows us to manage the project deliverables along with your project plan. After you associated the deliverables in project plan, you can publish the deliverables list to the project workspace to share with project team and customer team.

Option B: Create the deliverables in Project Workspace

Deliverables can also define from Project Workspace (SharePoint site). The only limitation on this option is, first project plan need be setup on Project Server to have the Project Workspace.

The both options have own significance and purpose of creating the deadlines.
  • Create the deliverables in Project Plan: This option is mainly meant for Project Manager who is managing the project schedules. PM can define the deliverables in project plan and collaborate with team or other project managers.
  • Create the deliverables in Project Workspace: In some situations depends on organization policy, delivery managers or customer managers are responsible for defining the deliverables. In this scenario, the best option to create the deadlines from Project workspace (SharePoint site).

Please note, I am writing the article on this and will publish soon. Thank for your patience.
