Step 8: Program Tracking

If your program plan contains inserted sub projects and followed the proper publishing and workspace creation process, you will have the capabilities of the effective program management tracking. The few of those abilities are:
  • View and manage consolidated Program Schedules on Program Plan by using MS Project Professional
  • View consolidated Program Schedules Project Center on PWA
  • Data Analysis
  • Program Workspace

View and manage consolidated Program Schedules on Program Plan by using MS Project Professional:

You can view and perform updates (if you have inserted project with link and RW mode) on Program Plan. Program Plan gives the complete visibility of entire program schedules and status.

View consolidated Program Schedules Project Center on PWA:

On PWA home page -> Click on Project Center from left menu

Click on Program Name hyperlink to view the program schedules which are identical to Gantt chart view in Program Plan MPP. The advantage of this view is, MS Project Professional not required to view schedules.

Data Analysis:

You can view the program consolidated information based on your available views in OLAP cube.

Program Workspace:

You can access the Program Workspace from PWA. Look for your program name under Workspaces section on PWA and click the program name hyper link to view the Program Workspace.

Also all sub projects workspaces appear as sub-workspaces within Program Workspace.

To view the sub project workspaces, please do the following:

On Program Workspace home page, click on Sites from left menu

When you click on each of the sub project workspace, you can see the sub project workspace is appears as child site within Program Workspace.
