Reason 6: Inability to assess the impact of project schedule updates on dependency tasks

Project Server 2003:

When PM edits a task, related tasks with predecessor and successor relationships are also automatically updated.

There is no capability to preview the impact of such changes on related tasks, dates and costs

Project Server 2007:

Project Server 2007 provides a new “Change Highlight” feature. This highlights all values in the project that will be changed by the most recent edit.

This makes it much easier for the project manager to determine how changing an assignment will affect tasks, dates, costs, and other values
