Reason 3: Administration/Departmental plans must manage in Server

Project Server 2003:

Administrative plans are required to track non-project work activities such as vacations, meetings, etc.

In Project Server 2003, Resource Managers / Departmental Administrators must maintain non project plans even though they are frequently not skilled enough in MS Project. Managing these plans is an additional responsibility for these individuals.

Project Server 2007:

Administrative plans have been eliminated from MS Project Server 2007. Administrative plans are no longer required to manage in server.

Non-working time categories are configured in PWA by a system administrator, centralizing management of these administrative categories can be done from PWA. These categories are displayed on each team member’s timesheet.
